Producer: Domaine Chevalier Père et Fils has been in the Chevalier family since 1830, in communes of Ladoix and Buisson, Grand Cru, Premier Cru and village. True artisan domaine, low intervention.

Vineyard: Le Clou d'Orge is one of Ladoix's best Premier Crus, located right below Corton Grand Cru, limestone clay, south-east facing. Produces elegant, mineral Pinot Noir.

Tasting Note:
2018 warm generous vintage - ripe yet fresh. Red cherry, raspberry, violets, earth, subtle oak. Medium-bodied, silky tannins, limestone minerality from Corton hillside. Elegant Ladoix 1er Cru, drinking beautifully now at 7 years old, can cellar 5-8 years more. Outstanding value Burgundy!

Rating: No critical score yet (small artisan), but Ladoix 1er Cru from this historic domaine consistently 89-91 Burghound equivalent - best value 1er Cru in Côte de Beaune!
