 A very cool and tight Corton Charlemagne with the intense spice, bold structure and steeliness that we expect from this appellation. Staggering concentration, which at this early stage makes the wine slightly austere, but all this gives it great aging potential.  Louis Latour is the largest landowner of Charlemagne with 10.5 hectares, and all but a 0.5 hectare are together. This has lovely precision and lightness with pure green pear and honeydew melon accented by honey, vanilla bean and shortbread. The dense palate edges on hedonistic - in a good way, then the lively acidity and a thread of chalky minerality kick in to give the wine an easy drinkability. 2024-38 (CC)  (1/2023)

There is fine volume and plenty of vibrancy to the delicious middle weight flavors that are a bit more mineral-driven, though they don't possess nearly the same size and weight, while concluding in a bitter lemon-inflected finish where a touch of warmth slowly emerges.  (6/2022)
